Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Add onion and mushrooms and cook until softened.

  3. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine.

  4. Gradually pour in broth, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.

  5. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens.

  6. Stir in cream and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Serve warm.
