Ingredients

  • 5 slices white bread, cubed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 pears, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried sage
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 10-12 minutes, until crisp.

  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until softened.

  4. Add pears and cook for 5-7 minutes, until tender.

  5. Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

  6. Stir in toasted bread cubes, Gorgonzola cheese, parsley, sage, salt, and pepper until well combined.

  7. Transfer stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish.

  8. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown.
