How To Make Jewelled Mincemeat

It’s always the season for merry making and nothing gets merrier than a full stomach. These Christmas recipes will do the trick for happy smiles and bellies. Nobody goes on diet and no tummy goes hungry during Christmas!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of mincemeat
  • 1 sheet of pre-made pie crust
  • 1 apple, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup of dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup of chopped almonds
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Roll out the pie crust and cut into 4 equal circles.

  3. Place the pie crust circles onto a baking sheet.

  4. In a bowl, mix the mincemeat, apple, cranberries, almonds, sugar, and cinnamon.

  5. Spoon the mincemeat mixture onto the center of each pie crust circle.

  6. Fold the edges of the pie crust over the mincemeat, creating a rustic tart shape.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

  8. Allow the mincemeat tarts to cool for a few minutes before serving.
