Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 4 tbsp of mincemeat
- 4 tbsp of chopped pecans
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Roll out the sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle shape.
-
Spread the mincemeat evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
-
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the mincemeat.
-
Starting from one long side, tightly roll the puff pastry towards the center, stopping at the middle.
-
Repeat with the other long side, rolling towards the center to meet the first roll. Press lightly to seal.
-
Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled pastry into 1/2 inch thick slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Brush each palmier with the beaten egg wash.
-
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
-
Allow to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
