Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mincemeat
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Slowly add the milk while mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.

  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick. Spread the mincemeat evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.

  5. Sprinkle the raisins over the mincemeat. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.

  6. Cut the log into 8 equal-sized buns and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
