Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of potatoes
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel and rinse the potatoes, then cut them into cubes.

  2. Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Add salt to the water.

  3. Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes until they are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  4. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot.

  5. In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until the butter is melted.

  6. Pour the milk and butter mixture over the potatoes.

  7. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher until smooth and creamy.

  8. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.

  9. Serve the mashed potatoes hot.
