How To Make Wuxi Ribs

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of pork ribs
  • 1 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup of hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of rice wine
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, rice wine, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions to make the marinade.

  3. Place the pork ribs in a large Ziploc bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for better flavor.

  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the ribs from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use.

  5. Sear the ribs in the hot skillet until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.

  6. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Cover the skillet with foil and transfer to the preheated oven.

  7. Bake the ribs for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily falls off the bone.

  8. Remove the ribs from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

  9. Serve the Wuxi ribs hot and enjoy!
