Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and 1/4 cup water. Set aside.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef slices and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until crisp-tender.

  4. Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli and garlic. Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything in the sauce.

  5. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and broccoli. Add sesame oil and red pepper flakes (if using) and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
