How To Make Calico Beans Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp chili powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  3. Add the onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook until softened.

  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef mixture, drained beans, cooked bacon, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and chili powder. Stir well to combine.

  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or casserole dish.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the beans are hot and bubbly.

  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
