How To Make Quick Fish Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g white fish fillets, cut into chunks
  • 200g frozen peas
  • 200g frozen sweetcorn
  • 500g potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 50g butter
  • 50g plain flour
  • 500ml milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 50g grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Steam or boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them with butter and season with salt and pepper.

  3. In a separate pan, cook the fish in boiling water for 4-5 minutes until cooked through. Drain and set aside.

  4. In the same pan, cook the peas and sweetcorn according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  5. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk continuously for 1 minute.

  6. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly, until the sauce thickens.

  7. Add the fish, peas, and sweetcorn to the sauce and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Transfer the fish mixture to a baking dish and top with the mashed potatoes, spreading them evenly.

  9. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.

  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling.

  11. Serve hot and enjoy!
