Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 wheel of Camembert cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the Camembert cheese into thin slices.

  2. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.

  3. Place a layer of sliced Camembert on 4 slices of bread.

  4. Sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves, salt, and pepper.

  5. Top with the remaining 4 slices of bread, buttered side up.

  6. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  7. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  8. Remove from skillet, let it cool for a minute, and cut into halves or quarters before serving.
