Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.

  2. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the vegetables are tender.

  3. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Toast the hamburger buns, if desired.

  5. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half of the bun.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
