  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup almonds, sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter or ghee

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice, almonds, cinnamon stick, salt, and butter/ghee.

  3. Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and fluffy.

  4. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
