How To Make Gnocchi Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, egg, salt, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until a dough forms.

  2. Divide the dough into four equal parts. Roll each part into a long rope, about 1-inch thick.

  3. Cut each rope into 1-inch pieces to form the gnocchi.

  4. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Drop in the gnocchi and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface.

  5. Drain the gnocchi and transfer them to a serving dish.

  6. Heat the tomato sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through. Pour the sauce over the gnocchi.

  7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
