How To Make French Onion Cheeseburger

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  3. In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Mix well, then divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.

  4. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.

  5. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese and allow it to melt.

  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or skillet.

  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, then topping with caramelized onions.

  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
