Ingredients

  • onion
  • vegetable oil,for frying

For Awesome Blossom Sauce:

  • ½cupsour cream
  • 2tbspketchup
  • ½tspMcCormick seasoned salt
  • tspcayenne pepper
  • tsphorseradish,prepared

For Seasoned Breading:

  • cupsflour
  • 2tspMcCormick seasoned salt
  • ½tspground black pepper
  • ¼tspgarlic powder
  • ¼tsponion powder
  • ½tsppaprika
  • 1cupbuttermilk

Instructions

Awesome Blossom Sauce:

  1. In a small bowl combine sour cream, ketchup, seasoned salt, cayenne pepper, and horseradish. Stir well. Cover, and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Onion:

  1. First, peel the onion, It will depend on how large the onion is, and cut them about ½-inch thick.

  2. Cut the stem of the onion off and place the onion stem side down on the cutting board. Cut the onion in half vertically and horizontally. This should make 4 pieces, then make 2 additional diagonal cuts.

Seasoned Breading:

  1. In a bowl add the buttermilk.

  2. In another bowl combine the flour, seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir with a fork to mix up the breading.

  3. Bread the onions by first putting in the flour, then dip into the buttermilk, and back into the flour. Rest the onions on a wire rack.

  4. Preheat oil to 350 degrees F. Add a the onions in small batches, do not overcrowd the onions. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until they are golden.

  5. Remove from oil, and then drain on a wire rack.

  6. Serve.
