How To Make Pork and Sauerkraut

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups sauerkraut

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat some oil over medium heat.

  3. Add the pork shoulder and cook until browned on all sides.

  4. Remove the pork from the pot and set aside.

  5. In the same pot, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.

  6. Add the caraway seeds, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

  7. Return the pork to the pot and pour in the sauerkraut. Mix everything together.

  8. Cover the pot with a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven.

  9. Cook for 4 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily falls apart.

  10. Serve the pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes or bread.
