Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds.

  2. Place the seasoned pork in the slow cooker.

  3. Add the onion, garlic, sauerkraut, chicken broth, and brown sugar to the slow cooker.

  4. Stir everything together to combine.

  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours, or until the pork is tender and cooked through.

  6. Serve the slow cooker pork and sauerkraut hot with your favorite side dishes.
