How To Make Texas-Style Baked Beans

Ingredients
- 2 cans (15 oz each) of pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 4 slices of bacon, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/4 cup of ketchup
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon of molasses
- 1 teaspoon of mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.

Add the diced onion to the skillet with the bacon grease and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

In a 9×9 inch baking dish, combine the pinto beans, cooked bacon, cooked onion, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, chili powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional hour, or until the beans are thick and bubbly.
