Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 2 hours
Total: 2 hours and 10 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs
  • 1 cup of barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a dry rub.

  3. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs, if not already done, for a more tender result.

  4. Rub the dry rub all over both sides of the ribs, ensuring an even coating.

  5. Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet.

  6. Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until tender and cooked through.

  7. Remove the ribs from the foil and brush them generously with barbecue sauce.

  8. Increase the oven temperature to 450°F (230°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the sauce is sticky and caramelized.

  9. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before cutting them into individual portions.

  10. Serve the oven-baked baby back ribs with any remaining barbecue sauce on the side.
