  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, oats, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and walnuts (if using).

  4. Stuff the apple cavities with the mixture and place them in a baking dish.

  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the apples are tender.
