How To Make Yvonne’s Shrimp and Grits Recipe
A spicy and creamy Southern dish with shrimp on a bed of creamy grits.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
- 1 cup quick-cooking grits
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 tbsp. Cajun seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring water, milk, and salt to a boil. Gradually whisk in grits and reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes or until grits are tender and creamy.

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper and cook for 3-5 minutes or until shrimp is pink and cooked through.

Remove skillet from heat and stir in sour cream. Serve shrimp over a bed of grits and top with grated cheese and sliced green onions.
