Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of grits
  • 3 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 lb of shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp of Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped scallions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring the grits and chicken broth to a boil.

  2. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and cook the grits for 20-25 minutes until they are tender and creamy.

  3. In a separate skillet, heat the butter over medium-high heat.

  4. Add the garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  5. Add the shrimp and Cajun seasoning, and cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  6. Stir in the heavy cream and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  7. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Spoon the grits onto a plate and top with the shrimp and sauce.

  9. Garnish with chopped scallions.
