How To Make Yvonne’s Jambalaya Recipe

Delicious and spicy rice dish with chicken, sausage, and shrimp.

Total: 60 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 lb chicken breast, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 lb sausage, sliced
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion, green pepper, celery, and garlic. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Add chicken and sausage. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.

  3. Add rice, chicken broth, and Cajun seasoning. Stir well and bring to a boil.

  4. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.

  5. Add shrimp and cook for additional 5 minutes, or until shrimp is pink and cooked through.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Serve hot.
