How To Make Veg & Cheese Rolls

Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 10 sheets of phyllo pastry
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a bowl, mix together the grated cheese, mixed vegetables, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface. Brush it lightly with melted butter.

  4. Place another sheet of phyllo pastry on top and brush with melted butter again. Repeat this process with two more sheets of phyllo pastry.

  5. Spoon a portion of the cheese and vegetable mixture onto one end of the stacked phyllo pastry.

  6. Roll the pastry tightly, tucking in the edges as you go.

  7. Place the roll on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with melted butter.

  8. Repeat steps 3-7 with the remaining phyllo pastry and cheese mixture.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy.

  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
