How To Make Shooting Star Celebration Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Food coloring (assorted colors)
- Edible glitter (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a round cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Divide the batter evenly into separate bowls, depending on how many colors you want to use. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix well to incorporate the colors.

Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of each colored batter into the prepared cake pan, creating a random pattern.

Once all the batter is in the pan, use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the colors together, creating a marbled effect.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once the cake is completely cooled, decorate with edible glitter if desired.
