How To Make Muhammara

Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 red bell peppers, roasted and peeled
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the roasted red bell peppers, walnuts, bread crumbs, pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, cayenne pepper, and salt. Pulse until smooth.

  2. Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. Serve Muhammara with pita bread or vegetables for dipping. Enjoy!
