Ingredients

  • 1 cup lentils, cooked
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp thyme, dried
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 slices French baguette, toasted
  • Pickles, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  2. Add the cooked lentils to the skillet and stir to combine. Cook for another 5 minutes, until heated through.

  3. Transfer the lentil mixture to a food processor. Add the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, thyme, black pepper, and salt. Process until smooth and creamy.

  4. Transfer the faux gras to a serving dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors develop.

  5. Serve the faux gras with toasted baguette slices and pickles on the side.
