How To Make Burmese Tofu Fritters (Tohu Jaw)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of homemade Burmese tofu, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup of chickpea flour
  • 1/4 cup of rice flour
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of chili powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together chickpea flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt.

  2. Add a little water at a time to the flour mixture, stirring well to make a thick batter.

  3. Dip each tofu cube into the batter, coating it well.

  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

  5. Fry the coated tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.

  6. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

  7. Serve hot with chili sauce or a dipping sauce of your choice.
