Ingredients

  • 1 cup of dried mixed fruit
  • 1/2 cup of chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup of brandy
  • 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground allspice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the dried mixed fruit, chopped nuts, brandy, orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice.

  2. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  3. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

  4. Use the mincemeat immediately or transfer it to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

  5. Serve the mincemeat as a filling for tarts, pies, or as a topping for desserts.
