How To Make Lamb & Chickpea Pitta Burger

Ingredients

  • 500g ground lamb
  • 1 cup canned chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 pitta breads, halved
  • Toppings: sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, lettuce, tzatziki sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, chickpeas, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, chili powder, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the lamb patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

  4. While the patties are cooking, warm the pitta breads in a toaster or oven.

  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lamb patty inside each pitta bread half. Add desired toppings such as sliced tomato, cucumber, red onion, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce.

  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
