Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp of baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup of hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl.

  3. Add the oil, applesauce, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  4. Gradually add in the hot water while mixing until everything is well combined.

  5. Pour the batter into a greased 8-inch cake pan.

  6. Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

  7. Let the cake cool before serving.
