How To Make Easter Biscuits
These Easter biscuits are a delicious treat to enjoy during the holiday season.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 150g of plain flour
- 75g of butter, softened
- 50g of caster sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp of baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: food coloring and icing sugar for decoration
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
-
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Add in the beaten egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
-
In a separate bowl, sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
-
If desired, divide the dough and add a few drops of food coloring to each portion for a festive touch.
-
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1cm thick. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them onto the prepared baking tray.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
-
Allow the biscuits to cool on a wire rack before decorating with icing sugar, if desired.
