Ingredients

  • 1 lb walleye fish fillets, cut into slider-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Slider buns
  • Remoulade sauce (mayonnaise, dijon mustard, capers, lemon juice, hot sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, cayenne, salt and pepper.

  2. Dip each walleye fillet in the egg, then in the flour mixture, coating well.

  3. Press each fillet into the Panko breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.

  4. Heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat and fry the fillets until they are crispy and cooked through.

  5. Make remoulade sauce by mixing mayonnaise, dijon mustard, capers, lemon juice, and hot sauce.

  6. Assemble sliders with bread, remoulade, and a piece of crispy walleye.
