How To Make Teriyaki Swordfish Recipe

Flavorful swordfish coated in a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce.

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 25 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 swordfish steaks, about 6 oz each
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of mirin
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1 tbsp of minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp of grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, honey, garlic, and ginger. Reserve 1/4 cup of the mixture for glazing the fish later.

  2. Season swordfish steaks with salt and pepper. In a large ziplock bag, marinate the fish in the remaining teriyaki sauce for at least 10 minutes.

  3. Preheat grill or broiler to high heat.

  4. Remove swordfish from the marinade and pat dry. Brush with vegetable oil and grill or broil for 4-5 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.

  5. In a small saucepan, bring reserved teriyaki sauce to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened and glossy, about 3 minutes.

  6. Brush the glaze over the grilled swordfish and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
