How To Make Fish Pie Mac ‘n’ Cheese

Ingredients
- 250g macaroni
- 400g white fish fillets, such as cod or haddock
- 100g frozen peas
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 400ml milk
- 150g grated cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a separate pot, poach the fish fillets in boiling water for 5-7 minutes until cooked through. Drain and flake into bite-sized pieces.

In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 125g of the grated cheese until melted and combined. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the cooked macaroni, flaked fish, and frozen peas to the cheese sauce. Gently fold everything together until well coated.

Transfer the mixture to a greased ovenproof dish and sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
