How To Make Mexican Hot Chocolate

Enjoy this sweet and creamy treat in the mornings or in the evenings before bed.

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1- oz. semisweet chocolate
  • 3 drops vanilla extract
  • whipped cream, for garnish


  1. In a heavy saucepan, heat the milk, ground cinnamon and cinnamon stick until simmering.
  2. Add the chocolate and let melt.
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  4. Transfer to mugs and serve with whipped cream.
