Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 1/4 cup jam (any flavor)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, butter, and sugar. Use your hands or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Add the egg yolk and cold water to the mixture. Stir until the dough starts to come together.
-
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until smooth.
-
Roll out the dough to a 1/8-inch thickness. Use a round cookie cutter or a glass to cut out circles that will fit into the wells of a mini tart pan.
-
Press each circle of dough into the wells of the tart pan. Spread a teaspoonful of jam into each tart.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the tarts are golden brown.
-
Allow the tarts to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
-
Serve the little jam tarts as is or dusted with powdered sugar.
