Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 tablespoons of your favorite jam
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to about 1/8 inch thickness.

  3. Using a round cookie cutter or a glass, cut out 8 circles from the puff pastry.

  4. Place 4 of the circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. Spoon 1 tablespoon of jam onto each circle, leaving a small border around the edges.

  6. Brush the edges of the circles with beaten egg.

  7. Top each circle with another puff pastry circle and press the edges together to seal.

  8. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the tarts.

  9. Brush the tops of the tarts with beaten egg.

  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

  11. Let the tarts cool slightly before serving.

  12. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
