  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.

  2. Add the cold cubed butter to the flour mixture.

  3. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Pour the boiling water over the flour mixture and quickly stir with a fork until a dough forms.

  5. Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape each portion into a disc.

  6. Wrap the dough discs in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.

  7. When ready to use, roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface to fit your pie dish.

  8. Transfer the rolled dough to the pie dish and trim any excess dough from the edges.

  9. Fill the pie crust with your desired filling and bake according to your pie recipe.
