Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 cups of peeled and sliced apples
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1/2 cup of old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons of cold butter, cubed
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
-
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
-
Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared pie dish.
-
In a separate bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add in the cold butter cubes and use your fingers to crumble the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Sprinkle the oatmeal streusel evenly over the apples in the pie dish.
-
Place the pie dish on a baking sheet to catch any spills. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the streusel is golden brown.
-
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
-
Serve the Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel warm, and if desired, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
