  • 4 cups sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, and brown sugar for the streusel topping.

  4. Add the cold diced butter to the streusel mixture. Use your fingers to blend the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  5. Pour the apple filling into a pie dish and spread it evenly.

  6. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the apple filling, covering it completely.

  7. Place the pie dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.

  8. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
