How To Make Citrus & Marzipan Bakewell Tart

Ingredients
- 1 sheet of ready-made shortcrust pastry
- 150g ground almonds
- 100g butter, softened
- 100g caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- Zest of 1 orange
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 50g marzipan, grated
- 50g flaked almonds
- Icing sugar, for dusting
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line a tart tin.

In a bowl, mix together the ground almonds, butter, caster sugar, eggs, orange zest, lemon zest, and almond extract until well combined.

Spread the grated marzipan over the base of the pastry case.

Pour the almond mixture over the marzipan and smooth the top. Sprinkle with flaked almonds.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden and set in the middle.

Allow the tart to cool before dusting with icing sugar.
