How To Make Country Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
- 2 large apples
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Brush the melted butter over the puff pastry sheet.

Cut the puff pastry into 4 squares.

Place a few apple slices onto each square of puff pastry.

Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over the apple slices.

Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the apples, sealing the edges.

Place the dumplings onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.

Pour the sugar mixture over the dumplings.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender.
