Ingredients

  • 4 plums, pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the plums, brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and water.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the plums are soft and the sauce has thickened.

  3. Using an immersion blender or a regular blender, blend the sauce until smooth.

  4. Return the sauce to the saucepan and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool before using.

  6. Serve as a dipping sauce or glaze for meats.
