Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar until well combined.

  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few crumbs.

  7. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
