How To Make Skeleton Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Add the cold butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, vanilla extract, and milk.

  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few seconds until it comes together.

  7. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thickness.

  8. Use a skeleton-shaped cookie cutter to cut out biscuits and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.

  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.

  10. Allow the biscuits to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
