- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Stir in the chopped walnuts, if desired.
