Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 150g all-purpose flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 75g desiccated coconut
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 100g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 50g shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a rectangular baking tray.

  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together in the microwave or over a double boiler. Stir until smooth.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until fluffy.

  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and eggs, and mix well.

  5. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add the desiccated coconut and mix well.

  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, stirring until fully combined.

  7. Fold in the chopped milk chocolate.

  8. Pour the batter into the greased baking tray and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the shredded coconut on top.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few crumbs.

  10. Allow the traybake to cool completely before cutting into squares and serving.
