  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup (85g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously grease a madeleine pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Gradually add the melted butter and vanilla extract, whisking continuously.

  4. Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl and gently fold until just combined.

  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared madeleine pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.

  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers spring back when lightly touched.

  7. Remove the madeleines from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool.

  8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
